BlueCrest College conducted its 6th Governing Council Meeting on 10th August, 2016 to discuss the mid-year progression report and the future developments.
Welcoming the Council Members, Dr. Kapil Gupta, Dr. Kapil Gupta (Founder Director, Chairman- BlueCrest College, Ghana), reiterated BlueCrest’s commitment to be the preferred centre of excellence in education. He also re-confirmed to the Council members that the institution continues to work towards socio-economic development of Ghana and the entire Sub-Saharan region. Proceedings of the meeting commenced with the acceptance of MoM from 5th Governing Council meeting followed with a detailed presentation of mid-year report on College by Rector, Mr. Vivek Verma. Members were presented with the comparison of 2015-2016 graduate statistics with 2014-2015 which showed improvement in graduate output and academic performance of graduands.
BlueCrest as an institution strongly believe in the fact that Staff Development programs are very crucial in adapting faculty members to the changing roles in initiating and setting the directions for curricular changes. The main aim of these programs is to enhance the efficiency and performance while improving job satisfaction and teaching confidence. Keeping this philosophy at centre stage College organized few programs in co-ordination with industry and its mentor University which was highly appreciated by the staff members.
Council members were full of words of praise when presented with the facts about recently conducted International Conference on Advanced Trends in ICT and Management (ICAITM). BlueCrest has always been the front runner in adapting and training of new cutting edge technologies. This conference was aimed at addressing the issues relevant to Africa and to foster innovation in the all business sectors with the assistance of cloud to reduce cost and to increase sharing of much needed resources. The conference had the presence of speakers from IT giants like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, etc.
The College believes that freedom of education must go beyond national borders, and for this reason our very active participation internationally is essential. This involvement not only enhances our goal to provide our students with an education equal to that of the best universities and colleges worldwide, but it also enhances the College’s international reputation.
The Council discussed Strategic Plans for the period 2015-2020. The discussion was to provide a vision and working document with roadmap and well defined milestones to College Management.
Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of Education, who serves as a representative of Mentor University on the Council, expressed satisfaction on the processes and procedures followed by BlueCrest College. He guided the College Management to create an ambience for nurturing innovation, creativity and excellence in our students. Our educational programmes should lay emphasis on all round personality development and also in inculcating human values and professional ethics which help our students become more humane and socially alive to lead a meaningful life.
The College’s Governing Council comprises of intellects from Corporate, Academia and Mentoring University. The members not only praised the college for its performance so far but also encouraged and committed to support BlueCrest in moving forward together and achieve the goals.
