BIT 211 – Protocol and Internetworking Standards


This course provides a broad awareness of protocols used in internetworking devices. Identify the basic components of network theory. Identify the major network communications methods. Identify network data delivery methods. List and describe network media and hardware components. Identify the components of a TCP/IP network implementation. Identify the major services deployed on TCP/IP networks. Identify major issues and technologies in network security. Plan and design a network by using a systematic design methodology. Identify the components of a remote network implementation. Identify major issues and technologies in disaster recovery. Identify major data storage technologies and implementations. Identify the primary network operating systems. Explore tools, methods, and techniques used in managing and troubleshooting a network.

BIT 212 – Configuring and Implementing Enterprise Networks


This course provides the students with the skills of managing accounts and resources on Enterprise Networks.  Additionally the course also provides the skills to maintain server resources, monitor performance and safeguarding data on a Network Operating System.
This course is aimed at providing the students with the skills of configuring a Windows based computer to operate in a Windows Server Network Infrastructure.  Additionally, this course also provides the skills for implementing Network Infrastructure including tasks such as DHCP, DNS, WINS, Securing IP Traffic with Internet Protocol Security and certificates.

BIT 213 – Fundamentals of Server Technologies


This course introduces students to servers systems and system processing core, Explore the storage subsystem, Explore the communication, power, and input/output subsystems, Install, configure, and maintain server components, Upgrade server components, Explore environmental issues surrounding servers, Troubleshoot servers, Explore disaster recovery concepts and techniques

BIT 214 – System Integration and Deployment


This course introduces students to various modules of System Integration and Deployment. It also teaches student about how to install, configure and build a network infrastructure with emphasis on heterogeneous system integration. Topics include Interface Definition, System Testing, System Integration, System deployment and deployment support activities.

BIT 215 – Discrete Mathematics


In this course, students will learn the mathematical fundamentals and their applications to Information Technology. The fundamentals include sets and subsets, operations on sets, sequences, division of integers, matrices and mathematical structures. Some of the major topics to be covered in the course include logic, Boolean algebra, counting, functions, relations and digraphs, order relations structures, trees, graph theory, groups and semi-groups, etc.

Students are expected to apply these topics in the areas of Digital Logic, Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Graphics, etc.
