BHR421 Labour Law

This course examines the labour law and industrial relations from both national and international perspectives. It deals with human resource contracts, union-management relations, politics of labour laws, trade unions and industrial relations, strikes, collective bargaining and negotiations.

BHR422 Public Sector HRM

Upon successful completion of this course, students should demonstrate am ability to explain the development of public personnel policies in Ghana; Identify fundamental values guiding public sector human resource management policies and practices, and use examples to illustrate value tradeoffs; Identify and apply major provisions of key pieces of legislation, administrative guidelines and court rulings governing human resource management in the public sector; Discuss the most significant changes and challenges facing public sector human resource management; and Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of one contemporary issue in human resource management and the competencies required to respond professionally, creatively, and ethically to that challenge.

BHR423 Global Innovations and Creativity

The objective is to enable students to understand creativity and innovation management. This course will help to understand individual and group creativity, generation of creative ideas in group and brainstorming.

BHR424 Human Resource Information Systems

With the emergence of the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERPS) that integrates various business modules within the company's information database, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) has become a crucial focus for Human Resource professionals. Students will learn basic concepts, terminology, functions and outputs necessary to secure, maintain and utilize human resource data in operations and strategic planning.

BHR425 (E) Project Management

Understand the following: work breakdown structures, network, project builder, project planning board, date planning, resource planning, materials in projects, cost planning, revenue planning, payments in projects, budgeting, commitments and actual data, period end closing, information systems and integration with other applications.

BHR426 Project

The focus of this research is to provide students with the necessary tools that will enable to conduct basic research – especially business research.Candidates shall undertake a project based on a previously approved proposal. Each project shall be supervised by a member of the teaching staff and shall run over two semesters. A candidate shall submit a written report with subsections covering the following areas, where applicable: Background to the business problem being studied; statement of the research problem and its significance; literature on past approaches to the problem; conceptual analysis of the problem; testable hypothesis as suggested by the conceptual analysis or framework; hypothesis testing; data collection methods; data analysis; including model estimation and interpretation of empirical results. Major conclusions and their policy implications.
