BBF411 Strategic Management

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills required for making strategic decisions in both profit and non-profit making organisations.

BBF412 Retail Lending

This course seeks to help students to understand the techniques of good credit assessment, principles of lending and the eligibility criteria for bank lending, concept of working capital and the various methods of assessing the working capital. It also enumerates the various types and forms of lending (vis-à-vis lending against shares, real estate, and term loans).

BBF413 Treasury Management

This course sets out to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how to manage treasury affairs with a detailed look at the various financial markets and instruments that can be traded. It explains the role and responsibilities of a bank’s treasury and the practices involved in the money market, foreign exchange, and capital market from the point of view of the bank.

BBF414 Taxation I
This course provides students with an understanding of the main principles and concepts of taxation. It aims to provide students with knowledge of how taxation policy is formulated and applied in Ghana. The course will enable students to understand how the Ghana tax liabilities of individuals and organizations are calculated. The study of Ghana tax law and practice is further developed in the context of tax planning and ethical considerations.

BBF414 Business Research Methods

This course provides students with an understanding of the methods and procedures of research.  The course will be delivered in an intensive format immediately prior to commencement of the semester. Students will submit a Research Proposal and deliver two oral presentations.

BBF415 Financial Modelling with Spreadsheets

This is a laboratory-based course.  Its aim is to help the students learn the application of MS-Excel in financial modelling.

BBF416 Industrial Attachment

This course requires students to undergo professional work experience in an organisational environment for a period of not less than 45 days during the first semester vacation of Level 400. This gives opportunity to students to observe and feel the working environment of industries, which extends the curriculum and provides meaningful experience related to the student's area of interest. A report is required at the end of the attachment.
