BIT 121 – Introduction to Relational Database Design and its Implementation

Synopsis

This course deals with the theory of Relational databases, relational database nomenclature and relational algebra.  The course includes sections on E-R Diagrams and optimizing databases through Normalization. Student will learn to understand and implement relational databases using SQL Server 2008. Students will also learn about creating and managing database objects in a relational database environment. This also provides an insight to creating and maintaining database integrity by implementing business rules.

BIT 122 – Deploying and Configuring Business Desktops

Synopsis

This course deals with multiple business desktop operating systems, including Windows, and Open Source OS. Students are taught about usage of these OS, its implementation and deployment.  They are made to learn usage of business desktops, their market relevance and importance in day to day business transaction. Understand the desktop deployment life-cycle in an enterprise. Identify the tools and technologies used in desktop deployment. Identify, analyze, and mitigate the hardware compatibility issues. Evaluate deployment methods and select the appropriate method. Plan and deploy the desktops. Plan and migrate user data and settings in desktop migration. Understand the applications and updates deployment methods.

BIT 123 –Platform Technologies

Synopsis

This course introduces the students to get sufficient exposure to the Platform Technologies.  The student gets to understand the fundamentals of Platform technologies using Open Source Operating Systems. Students will be able to understand the development environment using desktop environment, command line statements and shell scripts etc...

BIT 124 – Deploying and Troubleshooting Open Source Operating Systems

Synopsis

This course aims at providing the student with the skills of installation, configuration, and attaching a newly installed Red Hat Linux system into an existing network.  In addition to the above, the course also provides knowledge on device configuration, File system management, services management, user administration and kernel configuration. Being consistent with environment, where most deployments involve more than one platform and cross platform functionality for applications and processes, the course helps build skills on leading Enterprise Server platforms through Linux knowledge and skills for Windows System Administrators

BIT 125 - Communication Skills in English - 2

Synopsis

Wherever man finds himself with his homologue(s): home, market, church, school, factory, industry and all other human establishments, communication is indisputably indispensable. Effective Communication Skills is hence a key determining factor in distinguishing between just a professional and a real professional in the milieu of work. This course aims at equipping students with effective communications and styles(both oral and written), comprising how to; write and respond to business letters, prepare and present a speech, organise meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops, conduct interviews, write memos, take minutes, etc.

BIT 126 – OOPS using C++

Synopsis

This course introduces object-oriented programming using the C++ programming language.
Topics include algorithm development using standard control structures, design methods such as step-wise refinement, the object oriented programming framework, the use of standard C++ API and interfaces, the use of container classes, disk file processing, introduces techniques for code reuse, and basic strategies for software testing.Other topics are syntax and basic features of the object-oriented programming language C++; programming style, standards and practices in programming; the use of standard C++ classes, interfaces, containers; and basic techniques for code reuse and testing.

BlueCrest College offers free seminars, workshops to the general public on various key topics. This year, fours such free sessions on diverse subjects were offered to the delight of the public. Four free seminar sessions were offered in two weeks.
